MOGADISHU (HOL) - Somalia has hailed Turkish investments in the country noting economic cooperation between the two countries had contributed to deepening relations.
Speaking during an end of year dinner hosted by the ministry of Planning, Minister Gamal Hassan saluted Turkish companies and government for their investments in Somalia.“I appreciated our joint efforts with H.E. Amb. Mehmet Yilmaz to promote investments under the Somalia-Turkey Cooperation,”Planning Minister Gamal Hassan said.
“The reception is part of our way of appreciating the Turkish Model of working with Somalia.”
On his part, ambassador Yilmaz said cooperation between the two countries was growing stronger.
“Glad to see that cooperation between and business circles is getting stronger every day. Grateful to Somalia Investment Promotion Office and The Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development,” ambassador Yilmaz said.
Turkish companies have in recent years invested in various economic sectors in Somalia particularly in real estate, hospitals and general trading.
