MOGADISHU (HOL) - Somali Government Monday dissolved the National Chamber of Commerce citing complaints from traders.
Trade and Industry Minister Khalif Abdi Omar announced the dissolution of the traders body but did not provide details which resulted in the decision.
The Minister only referred to ‘complaints from traders. He also unveiled a new team to steer the chamber.
Abdullahi Osman from Hormuud Telecom will now head the reconstituted chamber of commerce and will be deputized by Abdiweli Mohamud Warsame (Somtel) and Hassan Ali Nur from Ali Moha General Trading.
The National Chamber of Commerce has for sometime now been riddled with leadership wrangles with the federal government.
