DHUSAMAREEB (HOL) - Clashes broke out this afternoon in Dhusamareb between two government forces leading to injuries of at least five people.
Sources in the town said the troops from the Harama’d division of the national army, and the intelligence agency NISA exchanged heavy fire leading to the casualties.
The sources said the two fought over control of a checkpoint in the town. Harama’d Forces were in control of the checkpoint, but NISA forces attempted to wrest control, a source in the town said.
Five people among them civilians were injured in the fight which lasted for an hour.
Harama’d was deployed in the town early this year ahead of the state elections.
Sources said there is still tension in the town as both sides marshal reinforcements.
National army troops also clashed in the town in February with the moderate Islamist group Alhu Sunna Wal Jamaa.
