'Ethiopian' RPG hits small Kenyan aircraft in Bardale

MOGADISHU (HOL) - Six crew members have been killed this afternoon when small Kenyan aircraft allegedly hit by what is suspected to be RPG.

E120 aircraft with registration 5Y AXO was just in preparation of landing at Bardale Airstrip when it exploded, leading all people onboard to die.

According to Kenya based Website, the plane was hit by an RPG mistakenly fired by Ethiopian forces based in the town but Hiiraan Online cannot authoritatively confirm the allegation made by the portal.

The victims include two pilots, a flight engineer and three others.

Sources say the plane was chartered by an NGO and was transporting medical supplies to Bardale town of Somalia's Baay region.

Southwest state transportation minister Hassan Hussein said the cause of the plane crash is being investigated

Neither Kenya nor Ethiopia authorities commented on the incident.
