JOWHAR (HOL) - Reports of elections delay and rigging are untrue and just ‘mere propaganda’ HirShabelle State Interior Minister Mohamed Ali Aadle has said.
Responding to claims the HirShabelle administration was planning to delay the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections, Aadle said such remarks were unfounded and termed them as propaganda.
The minister also denied reports in a section of the media that individuals within the current administration were bent on rigging the upcoming polls.
He said HirShabelle was not a monarchy and that everyone had the right to contest for any seat without fear of being rigged out.
HirShabelle is set for presidential and parliamentary elections this month as the term for the current administration nears its end.
HirShabelle was formed in October 2016 and is the youngest Federal Member State in Somalia.
