Mogadishu (HOL) - PM Mohamed Hussein Roble chaired the National Consultative Council with the heads of Somalia's regional governments on Saturday.
Electoral preparations dominated the Council's agenda as they discussed electoral procedures and finances.
The PM rebuffed requests from the Council of Presidential Candidates to participate in the meeting.
So far, only South West and Puntland have completed elections for Somalia's Upper House of Parliament, while Jubaland and Galmudug have to fill a few more seats each. Hirshabelle is the only Federal Member State (FMS) that has not yet begun electing its candidates for the Senate.
The Council will meet again on Sunday for the final day.
