Visa Card makes debut entry into Somalia

MOGADISHU (HOL) - The international payment service, Visa Card has made its first arrival in Somalia following its launch by the International Bank of Somalia (IBS).

The launch of Visa Card now adds to two the number of international payment services in Somalia.

Premier Bank launched Master Card service in 2018.

IBS Bank said the launch of the service for the first time in Somalia was geared towards meeting the needs of its client.

Information minister Osman Dube hailed the launch of the service noting it will go a long way in boosting the financial sector in Somalia.

Prime Minister Mohamed Roble graced the event.
