Mogadishu (HOL) - Somali National Army (SNA) on Monday claimed to have captured Al-Shabaab's chief of operations in Lower Shabelle region.
Ali Mohamed Aden aka Seed Haris, was arrested during a covert security operation conducted by Somali forces in Janale district.
Somali military has recently been waging an offensive against Alshabab in Galmudug state.
Early this week, US military has resumed airstrikes to support SNA's operations against the militants.
Since Tuesday, US drones hit two al-Shabaab training bases in Mudug region including Qeycad village near Ba'adweyn town.
