Mogadishu (HOL) - At least two civilians were killed and another injured on Saturday following an explosion on the outskirts of the capital Mogadishu, according to witnesses.
Reports indicate that the roadside bomb likely targeted a government vehicle that crossed the road shortly before the blast.
The blast hit a civilian motorcycle passing through Garasbaale, killing two civilians and injuring another.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast, but the militant insurgency group Al-Shabab has carried out similar attacks in Mogadishu and surrounding regions.
The road between Mogadishu and Afgoye is one of the most dangerous areas in Somalia for government or military vehicles. However, it is just as dangerous for civilian vehicles caught in the crossfire.
