Mogadishu (HOL) - A delegation led by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble landed in Barawe on Sunday to inspect the security preparations ahead of Somali parliamentary elections.
The PM was welcomed at Barawe International Airport Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, the President of the South West Administration along with other top officials of the South West Administration including the the Speaker of Parliament, cabinet ministers, and MPs.
The PM was accompanied by ministers, parliamentarians, the chairman of the Federal Electoral Commission (FEIT) and other officials.
During his visit, the PM said that he would inspect electoral venues for the upcoming Parliamentary elections and assess the security situatio in the region.
Roble said that he would do a tour of all the cities that will host voting centres in the parliamentary elections. He has already visited the cities of Kismayo and Garbaharey in Gedo.
PM Roble called on the remaining FMS states to expedite their Upper House elections so that preparations can begin for parliamentary and presidential elections.
