MOGADISHU (HOL)- The Somali delegation that led the maritime case legal team headed by Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Guled today arrived following a win against Kenya.
The team, which included Guled, former Attorney General Dahir Ali, his successor Suleiman Mohamud among others, landed to a heroes welcome at Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu.
MPs, Senators and ministers, among other senior government officials, lined up at the airport to welcome the team.
Guled and former Somali ambassador to the EU Ali Said Fiqi were Somalia's agents in the case. President Mohamed Farmaajo later received the delegation.
The International Court of Justice ruled last week in favour of Somalia in the seven-year maritime case.
The court objected to Kenya's claim of triangular territory in the Indian Ocean and instead declared Somalia was the majority owner of the piece.
Kenya has, however, rejected the ruling and vowed not to let go 'even an inch of the territory.
