Jowhar (HOL) - Elections for the Federal Upper House of Parliament in Jowhar on Wednesday with a fourth member being elected.
Dr. Osman Mohamud Mohamed (Dufle) won his re-election bid to represent Hirshabelle in the upcoming parliament. Dufle won in a tightly contested race against Somali Ambassador to Kena, Mohamud Ahmed Nur (Tarzan) and Rage Hassan Osman. Dufle was able to push past Osman in the second round of voting.
On Tuesday, Hirshabelle lawmakers voted in three senators to Somalia's Upper House.
There are four remaining seats to be contested at a later date.
Dufle is a physician by training and served as Minister of Health in the Transitional National Government of Somalia.
