Mogadishu (HOL) - A delegation led by the Djibouti President Ismael Omar Guelleh arrived in Mogadishu on Wednesday.
Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, as well as the country's regional state leaders, legislators, and ministers, welcomed President Guelleh cordially at Mogadishu's Adan Adde International airport.
President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh is expected to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Somali Language Academy (AGA) and other joint Somali-Djibouti development projects.
The Somali government has grounded civilian planes at Mogadishu's Aden Adde airport ahead of Djibouti President Ismael Omar Guelleh's arrival. However, the Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) cited it as "maintenance." Emergency and technical flights are exempt from the travel ban.
Somali officials also closed key roads in Mogadishu in preparation for the visit of Djibouti's President and his delegation.
