Somali President to appoint PM in the following hours

    Mogadishu (HOL) -  Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is expected to appoint his Prime Minister in the next few hours.

    Mohamud, according to sources, has wrapped up his final discussions and consultations on the appointment of a new Prime Minister of Somalia.

    The President held consultations and talks with regional state leaders on the sidelines of the National Consultative Council meeting in Mogadishu on Sunday; he also met with the business community in the capital on Monday. 

    Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was elected in Mogadishu by Somali MPs on 15 May, after defeating former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.
