BELEDWEYNE (HOL) - HirShabelle President Ali Gudlawe has reportedly been barred from leaving Beletweyne amid a fall-out with his deputy Yusuf Dabageed.
Sources in the town said Gudlawe had been was 'forced' to stay in the official residence despite his decision to leave for Jowhar.
Sources added both Gudlawe and Dabageed failed to agree on how the remaining 11 parliamentary seats will be filled as it emerges that Dahabageed is being backed by Villa Somalia.
The two leaders have recently fallen out over the conduct of elections there.
Clan militias have deployed in the town and tensions remain high. Two soldiers were killed Monday evening following at clash at government headquarters in the town.
