Doha: Doha Bank, one of the largest private commercial banks in Qatar, has donated QR1m to the “Pakistan Relief” and “Stop Somalia’s Famine” campaigns launched by Qatar Charity with the aim of providing humanitarian aid to the flood victims in Pakistan and those affected by the drought in Somalia.
Ahmed Ali Al Hanzab, Head of Administration & Properties Department at Doha Bank, handed the cheque to Ahmed Al Shirawi, Head of Relations and Social Responsibility Department at Qatar Charity.
Al Shirawi expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the generous donation made by Doha Bank in support of the two relief campaigns, praising the bank’s belief in Qatar Charity and its continued engagement with its various projects and drives, as well as its contribution to community service and support for humanitarian causes all over the world.
Al Hanzab expressed his pride at having contributed to the relief efforts spearheaded by Qatar Charity for Pakistan’s flood victims and Somalia’s drought victims, and noted that the bank pays great attention to humanitarian issues by providing support to the marginalised communities that fall under the umbrella of the humanitarian duty towards people impacted by catastrophes and crises and those in need.
He also praised Qatar Charity’s humanitarian efforts and stated that this donation is part of the bank’s social responsibility program, which supports initiatives and campaigns that aim to significantly improve the lives of individuals and communities. He also reaffirmed the bank’s resolve to support future initiatives, campaigns, and projects of Qatar Charity.
