Mogadishu (HOL) - Somalia's Minister of Heath, Dr. Ali Haji Adan, visited victims from Saturday's twin car bomb explosions at hospitals in Mogadishu on Sunday.
Minister Dr. Ali Haji listened to reports from hospital authorities and doctors about the condition of the injured people, and he was assured r that they would receive complete medical care.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said that at least 100 people were killed and 300 injured in two car bombs that exploded outside the education ministry in Somalia's capital Mogadishu on Saturday.
Mohamud and hospital officials said the number of casualties could rise.
Dr. Ali Haji Adan, Minister of Health, added that the Ministry was working to ensure that victims with the most severe injuries would be sent abroad for further treatment.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, although the president blamed the Islamist group al-Shabaab, which frequently targets civilians and government infrastructure.
