Mogadishu (HOL) - Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud presided over the National Consultative Council meeting in Mogadishu on Sunday.
During the two-day summit, the Federal and Federal Member States will discuss the country's security, accelerating drought response, and combating al Shabaab.
The meeting comes as Mogadishu seeks to shore up its cooperation with the Federal Member States ahead of President Mohamud's trip to New York for the United Nations General Assembly meeting.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, the regional state leaders of Jubbaland, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, South West, Abdizais Hassan Mohamed Laftagaren, Galmudug, Ahmed Abdi Kariye, Hirshabelle Ali Gudlawe Hussein and Said Abdullahi Deni of Puntland.
