Mogadishu (HOL) - At least ten al-Shabab terrorists were killed in a joint operation carried out by Somali forces and US military drones in the Middle Jubba region of Somalia this week.
According to the Somali Ministry of Information statement on Wednesday, the operation targeted members assembling at the border between the Middle Jubba and Lower Jubba regions. The Ministry highlighted that the military successfully thwarted the group's plan, ensuring no harm befell civilians in the operation.
Two days prior, the US military executed an airstrike near the Jilib district in the Middle Jubba region, resulting in the death of one al-Shabab militant.
However, the Somali government reported that a high-ranking al-Shabab commander was killed in collaboration with the United States military. Still, the identity of the dead militant has not been identified.
