Pieter Storms, a 62-year-old Dutch national and renowned TV announcer in the Netherlands, had been struggling with a calcification problem for approximately ten years. The problem started in his ankles and gradually progressed to his knees and hip.

The fate of Pieter Storms, who had been struggling with health problems for years, changed when his Dutch doctor friend, Bas Pijnenburg, stepped in. In February 2017, Doctor Pijnenburg operated on both of Storms' knees in Amsterdam. However, the pain persisted, and it was revealed that Storms needed hip replacement surgery. Storms says the following about the hip replacement surgery: "Doctor Pijnenburg told me that the right hip joint required surgery as soon as possible and that the operation could be performed at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital due to its modern and advanced operating room technology. After the surgery, my leg didn't feel like it was mine, but that feeling didn't last long."
Stating that he was happy to learn that he could play golf again after just three weeks, Storms says, "The same thing happened after the knee surgery. I'm happy to return to my former life after three weeks. I hope I don't experience the same problem on the left side of my hip, but the current situation indicates that I will need another hip replacement surgery in a few years."

He explains, "We tried various methods such as exercise, physiotherapy, and injections before the surgery, but none produced good results. So, we opted for surgery as the strain in his movements continued to persist."
