Ethiopia: Somali Regional State licenses 367 investors

    The Somali Regional State's Investment and Industry Bureau has granted new investment licenses to developers who registered a capital of Birr 11.4 billion in the last financial year.

    The Deputy Head of the office, Ibrahim Ahmed, stated that 367 projects had been approved in sectors such as mining, agriculture, animal resources, industry, construction, hotel, house development, trade, and services. These projects are expected to create 12,243 job opportunities once they are fully operational.

    Mr. Ibrahim also mentioned that the office is working towards increasing the flow of investment. They are actively engaging with the native diasporas of the region to participate in development activities. Additionally, an industrial village spanning 11 hectares has been prepared in Jigjiga city to stimulate industrial projects.
