Bosaso (HOL) - Police forces in Bosaso, a city in Puntland, have apprehended four men suspected of participating in an armed attack against an impoverished family. The assault took place in the family's home last night, where they were subjected to torture and threats.
The group brazenly posted a video of their abusive acts towards the family in their residence. The video included distressing footage of the father, mother, and some of their children.
The clip swiftly gained attention on social media, eliciting widespread outrage. Many condemned it as a repugnant act, breaching the tenets of Islam, the ethical norms of Somali culture, and universal human rights.
Subsequently, the Bosaso police succeeded in arresting four members of the group. Meanwhile, the military continues to search for additional perpetrators.
Abdiqadir Jama Dirir, the Chief of Police for the Bari region, attributed this horrific incident to provocations made on the Tiktok platform, which tragically led to the victimization of an innocent family.
Dirir reaffirmed that the suspects will be held accountable for their actions, stating that they will face the full force of the law, and appropriate punishments will be enacted.
