Somali military court sentences ex-police officer to death

    Mogadishu (HOL) - The Somali military court sentenced a former government soldier to death and another police officer to five years in prison on Monday for killing a police officer.

    The court found Abdullahi Abdi Mustaf guilty of the murder of policeman Abdikarin Ibrahim Ali Awdaango. Policeman Dahir Abdi Mustaf was arrested for aiding the killer by giving him his gun to commit the murder.

    The First Instance Court heard the case on February 22, 2023, and reopened the case on November 1, 2023. Abdullahi Abdi Mustaf was sentenced to death, while Dahir Abdi Mustaf received a five-year prison sentence.
