Saudi Arabia (HOL) - Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud called for an immediate ceasefire on Friday and urged humanitarian access to assist the most vulnerable people in Gaza.
Speaking at the Saudi-Africa summit, President Mohamud reiterated the importance of working towards a two-state solution at the earliest possible opportunity.
Last week, Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre stated that the Hamas group was not a terrorist organization but rather a liberation group fighting to protect Palestinian lands.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the only satisfactory solution is a two-state resolution, stating, "We will not compromise until we see a Palestinian government with Jerusalem as its capital. The blood of the people of Gaza marks the beginning of the liberation of Al-Aqsa."
