Garowe (HOL) – Three children were injured in an explosion caused by remnants of a live ordinance on Wednesday near the West Station (Saldhiga Galbeed) in Garowe, according to Puntland police.
The incident involved a 37 mm calibre anti-aircraft gun, known as "37" (Teedhi Saban) in Somalia, which fires highly explosive projectiles. The wounded children are currently receiving treatment at Garowe General Hospital, with some facing severe injuries.
Following the incident, the Nugal Region's minesweeping department has initiated a detailed investigation.
According to reports, the site of the explosion had been where Puntland forces and opposition loyalists clashed in June.
