Mogadishu (HOL) - Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Defence, Aden Bare Duale, arrived in Mogadishu on Wednesday for a meeting related to countering al-Shabab.
Upon landing at Aden Adde Airport, the delegation received a warm welcome from his Somali counterpart, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, and other ministers and lawmakers.
During his stay in Mogadishu, he will talk with the government leaders about cooperation and the acceleration of operations to eliminate the al-Shabab group, which poses threats to Somalia and neighbouring countries, including Kenya.
However, the Kenyan government is among the countries contributing troops to the African Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS). Kenya's Defense Forces (KDF) maintain bases in the Jubbaland regional administration.
