Galkayo (HOL) - A businessman, Ahmed Tahliil, was fatally shot by an unidentified armed group in Galkayo, marking the latest in a series of violent acts linked to escalating clan disputes in the region, officials reported.
The incident occurred at Tahliil's business location in the northern part of Galkayo, a city plagued by increasing instances of retributive violence. The gunmen escaped immediately after the attack, leaving no trace or clue regarding their identity or the reasons behind the killing.
This event is part of a disturbing trend in the Mudug region, where the administration has been struggling to mitigate conflict arising from clan vendettas. The murder of Dr. Zakariye Abdi Jama last September in his clinic further illustrates the severity of the situation, with his killers still at large.
