Somalia and Djibouti sign media cooperation agreement

The Director of Radio Mogadishu, Abdifatah Dahir Jeyte (left), and the Director General of Djibouti's Radio and Television, Aden Abdi Jama (right), sign a cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective governments, witnessed by officials from both nations. The agreement aims to enhance collaboration between the national media organizations of Somalia and Djibouti.


Djibouti (HOL) — The governments of Somalia and Djibouti signed a cooperation agreement on Thursday in Djibouti City. The deal aims to enhance collaboration between their national media organizations.

The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including Somalia's Minister of Information, Daud Aweis Jama, and Djibouti's Minister of Information, Posts, and Telecommunications, Ridwan Abdullahi Bahdon.

Minister Daud Aweis hailed the agreement as a historic milestone and a transformative step that will shape the future of media operations in both countries. Djibouti's Minister of Information, Ridwan Abdullahi, echoed this sentiment, expressing Djibouti's readiness to implement the agreement and engage in experience-sharing and collaboration with Somalia.

The agreement was signed by the Director of Radio Mogadishu, Abdifatah Dahir Jeyte, and the Director General of Djibouti's Radio and Television, Aden Abdi Jama, on behalf of their respective governments. Also in attendance were Somalia's Ambassador to Djibouti, Salad Ali Jelle, and Djibouti's Ambassador to Somalia, Mohamed Rashid.
