Hargeisa (HOL) - The President of the breakaway region of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, made reshuffles, removals, and appointments to his Council of Ministers on Sunday.
President Bihi dismissed the Minister of Transport and Road Development, Suleiman Awad Ali Bukhari, and appointed Rabbi Abdi Mohamed as the new Minister of Transport and Road Development.
Mohamud Warsame Jama has also been appointed as the new Minister of Fisheries.
Furthermore, the President appointed Abdinasir Aydid Mohamed Farah as the Deputy Minister of Agricultural Development of Somaliland, while Faisal Mohamud Said Abdulle was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Trade and Tourism of Somaliland.
Finally, Muse Ibrahim Yusuf Salaf was appointed Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Development.
The appointment of the new ministers comes a day after President Bihi enacted two amended electoral laws: the Electoral and Voter Registration Law (number 91/2023) and the Regulation of Organizations and Political Parties Law (number 14/2023).
The chairman of Somaliland's National Electoral Commission (SLNEC) has scheduled the dual Somaliland elections for November 2024.
