Beledweyne (HOL) — A new contingent of Djiboutian troops arrived in Beledweyne on Tuesday as part of the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), marking the latest deployment in the AU’s post-ATMIS operations.The troops were received at Ugaas Khaliif Airport by AUSSOM Sector 4 Commander Col. Said Waberi and senior Somali National Army (SNA) officers. The reinforcements were immediately deployed to Buula Burde and Jalalaqsi—two strategic towns in the Hiran region that have witnessed renewed Al-Shabaab activity in recent weeks.
