Teenager
You are blossoming into a young man,
A beautiful bright future ahead
Full of happiness and smiles as you
As you reach your last day of fasting
Your world is a different place.
Eid Mubarak, young man.
Grandfather
You feel the sun is setting on your years
You have had many happy ones
And the sun continues to smile brightly on your face
With your age and wisdom you have made prayers to the all Mighty
We pray HE accepts for us all

Mothers, sisters and wives
It's the end of hot afternoons of cooking
You have fed your flock well
They are nourished and their bellies praise you
You inspire with your patience and commitment
You have accrued the blessings of Ramadan from all
Eid Mubarak, mothers, sisters and wives
Sheikh
Taraweeh is over but your beautiful recitations of Koran resides in our hearts
Your words of peace and brotherhood have planted seeds of love across the land
Your example of piety have humbled the misguided arrogant
We look forward with renewed hope

Soldiers
You stood tall and proud under the flag while fasting
You prayed next to your steel of protection
You ate suhur and iftar in uniform
You manned the frontlines so all can worship in peace
Your courage is an example of Allah SWTs mercy on his people
Eid Mubarak, soldiers of Somalia
On the special day of Eid, I remember those who have achieved exceptional success through their determination and courage. Ramadan is truly a blessed month that Allah SWT has bestowed on us all. May the Almighty accept and reward us all for our fasting. Eid al Fitr is a celebration with deep reflection. It is an opportunity to renew and become a better human being.
In this short poem, I write about people I have come across this Ramadan who inspired me. All challenges and achievements are personal. Yet, recognising those who have triumphed (fasting for the first time and in old age despite health issues) and those who actively contribute to facilitating the success of others worship in the Holy month of Ramadan is crucial.
